The Meaning Behind Nutri-Threps
The name Nutri-THREPS comes from the Greek word “threpsis” (θρέψη), meaning “to nourish”—a concept that extends beyond just food. At Nutri-Threps, we believe in nourishing both the body and the soul, helping individuals develop a balanced, intuitive relationship with food that supports their overall well-being.
Our approach is deeply rooted in an anti-diet philosophy, guiding individuals toward liberation from restrictive eating patterns and promoting holistic nourishment. Inspired by the Greek philosophy of “ευ ζην” (a good life), Nutri-Threps bridges evidence-based dietetics with compassionate care, empowering individuals to honor both their physical needs and emotional well-being.

Meet Anastasia Gkegka
Hello, I’m Anastasia Gkegka — a registered dietitian, eating disorder specialist, and the founder of Nutri-Threps.
I’m passionate about supporting individuals to develop a more peaceful and nourishing relationship with food – one that’s grounded in both clinical evidence and compassion. While I specialise in eating disorders, my practice is shaped by a wide range of experience across NHS and private settings, including nutritional support, gut health, community dietetics, and more. This breadth has equipped me to work flexibly and holistically, while always staying rooted in the ethical and evidence-based standards of my profession.
I hold a BSc in Food and Human Nutrition, an MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition, and an MSc in Dietetics. I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), and committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my practice reflects the latest research and guidance.
Alongside running Nutri-Threps, I work within the NHS as a Specialist Eating Disorder Dietitian, supporting individuals across inpatient, outpatient, day programme, and intensive community treatment (ICT) services. My clinical work continues to deepen my understanding of the complexities surrounding eating behaviours, body image, and mental health.
I created Nutri-Threps to provide a compassionate, evidence-based approach to nutrition, free from the constraints of diet culture. My work integrates scientific research, mindful eating, and holistic well-being, ensuring each individual receives tailored support. I believe in fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their relationship with food and their bodies – free from guilt, restriction, or fear.
